Position may be responsible for assisting in a variety of department functions including, but not limited to, assisting customers, order processing, inventory, general cleaning, or any combination. Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Job DutiesAssists customers in person and on the phone.Fills janitorial orders.Marks inventory.Stocks supplies.Performs general cleaning duties including sweeping.Operates pallet jack, fork lift, and/or university vehicle.Assists with special projects as assigned.Performs other related duties as assigned.Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of general office and clerical procedures and concepts.Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records and files.Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with university faculty and staff, students, and the general public.Ability to understand and follow instructions.Ability to drive a university vehicle.Physical condition adequate to permit full performance of duties.Required QualificationsThe minimum education required for admittance as a student at Stephen F. Austin State University.No direct experience is required. Training and instruction will be provided.Preferred QualificationsPhysical DemandsRegularly lifts items over 60 pounds in weight.Special Conditions for EligibilityA student must be enrolled in six or more semester hours to be eligible for student employment during the fall or spring semesters.
