The Position

Our bank client seeks to fill a Chief Operating Officer role in Houston, TX. The successful candidate will prepare detailed credit analyses for commercial loans and demonstrate strong leadership skills to inspire and engage staff.

This position offers a salary of up to $180K plus a full benefits package.

SVP of Branch/Deposit Operations responsibilities include:

  1. Leading the Branch Operations and Operations Support Services functions within the bank.
  2. Collaborating with internal departments to assess, plan, and manage the utilization of financial products and services.
  3. Developing, monitoring, and executing the organization's strategic business plan, ensuring alignment with the overall vision and objectives. Partnering with senior management to develop, evaluate, and recommend policies, products, services, and processes to maintain the bank's competitive edge and financial health. Ensuring policy adherence, regulatory compliance, and effective execution of procedures.
  4. Directing and monitoring branch operations and support staff through subordinate managers to meet organizational goals.
  5. Collaborating on customer/product profitability initiatives and rate stratification.
  6. Preparing operational reports and participating in planning and budgeting processes.
  7. Contributing to product development and enhancement initiatives.
  8. Setting and monitoring branch financial and service delivery goals. Overseeing branch administration, establishing policies and procedures for efficient operations and compliance.
  9. Controlling and reporting branch losses and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  10. Providing mentoring and coaching to managers and staff.
  11. Identifying personnel needs and coordinating with HR for hiring and staffing.
  12. Staying current with industry trends, policies, and procedures, and continually developing skills.
  13. Performing other duties or projects as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and work experience.
  • 10+ years of branch leadership experience in a financial institution.
  • Experience with Fiserv is crucial.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial products, operations, and procedures.
  • Understanding of local, state, and federal laws and regulations affecting financial institutions.
  • Skills in technical areas, communication, customer service, business acumen, credibility, project management, leadership, and management.
