General Counsel Job Description

The position: The General Counsel will be responsible for managing litigation and overseeing all legal matters of the business, including acting as the company's legal representative.

Main Responsibilities:

• Advising executive members on laws and legal rights impacting the business
• Maintaining knowledge of the company's legal documents and operations
• Crafting and reviewing legal strategies in response to litigation
• Keeping records of legal documents and proceedings
• Facilitating filings of licensing forms and statutory requirements
• Communicating with outside counsel
• Legally filing for copyright of intellectual property
• Responding to litigation inquiries
• Managing employee relations through Bambee HR support
• Approving and filing lawsuits, transitioning to litigation assistants
• Responding to CEO's support requests
• Updating templates
• Handling escalated issues
• Managing notifications for timely responses
• Tracking litigated title claim issues and reporting
• Preparing and distributing management reports
• Attending client meetings for litigation updates
• Participating in hearings or mediations as needed
• Participating in due diligence reviews
• Completing other duties as assigned by the CEO

Qualifications:

• Ability to respond efficiently to staff questions and handle escalated problems professionally
• Proficiency in email, Word, Excel, and Clio software
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Previous project management experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor's Degree required
• Attorney or previous legal experience required
