We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Water and Sewer Worker to assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of water distribution and wastewater collection systems. This role involves outdoor physical labor, working with tools and equipment, and ensuring safe and efficient operation of water and sewer infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, and maintain water mains, sewer lines, manholes, valves, and hydrants
• Locate and mark water and sewer lines for excavation and repairs
• Respond to service calls, water main breaks, and sewer blockages
• Perform routine maintenance on water meters and wastewater systems
• Operate tools and heavy equipment such as backhoes, jackhammers, trenchers, and pumps
• Inspect lines and systems for leaks, clogs, or damage
• Follow safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, and utility drawings
• Document work performed, materials used, and maintenance activities
• Assist in emergency responses, including after-hours and on-call work

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous experience in utilities, plumbing, or construction preferred
• Basic knowledge of water and sewer systems
• Ability to operate heavy equipment and hand tools safely
• Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs, dig, and work in confined spaces and various weather conditions
• Valid driver's license required (CDL preferred or willingness to obtain)
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or emergency shifts as needed

Work Environment:
Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions and involves exposure to dirt, water, sewage, and physical hazards. Safety awareness and physical stamina are essential.
