About the Role

Are you an HR pro who thrives on helping people, solving problems, and keeping things running behind the scenes? At Burke, we're looking for someone like you to join our Human Resources team as an HR Specialist.

In this role, you'll work on a little bit of everything, recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits, compliance, and HR systems. You'll play a key part in helping our team support Burke's mission of improving mental health and well-being across East Texas.

What You'll Be Doing

• Coordinating hiring, onboarding, and orientation for new team members
• Managing benefit enrollments and helping staff understand their options
• Running full-cycle payroll with accuracy and confidentiality
• Ensuring compliance with HR and payroll regulations
• Supporting employee relations and maintaining personnel records
• Updating and maintaining our HRIS system and data reports

What We're Looking For

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 3 years of HR experience including recruitment, onboarding, and payroll
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel
• A valid Texas driver's license
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with care

Preferred

• A bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in nonprofit, healthcare, or community services HR
• Advanced Excel/reporting skills

Pay & Benefits

• Salary: Negotiable, based on your experience and qualifications
• Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week (Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)
