Vice President, Public Affairs (SKDKnickerbocker LLC, New York, NY): Assisting medium and large-sized teams for specific client initiatives, as well as managing junior team members, with input from team leads; Assisting team leads in developing and executing strategies to help clients achieve critical public affairs goals, using campaign-style approaches to include research, message development, digital media targeting, paid and earned communications; Supporting the development of complex, multifaceted communications plans and supplemental project plans, while leading the team; Supporting internal process driving towards client goals, with the arm of ensuring the effective, consistent, and coherent structure of all messaging; Contributing to team deliverables in order to ensure that they meet internal quality standards, as well as ensuring that they meet client goals and messaging objectives; Securing and managing coverage in local and national print and broadcast outlets; and Developing and maintaining booker, producer, and reporter relationships in order to support client communication needs and objectives. In order to complete the above-mentioned duties, the following skills and experience are required: Experience working in-house at a corporation, public affairs firm, advocacy group, or journalism; Experience supporting multiple clients while juggling multiple deadlines; Experience building media strategies and placing a wide range of national print and broadcast stories, in addition to drafting op-eds, press releases, media advisories, Q&A, talking points and statements; Experience working with a team while cultivating a collaborative atmosphere with a clear understanding of social media strategies for communications campaigns; Experience writing for media in the AP Style; Experience creating and fostering relationships with media outlets and journalists; and Experience with PR tools such as Cision, TVEyes, Meltwater, PRwire, and Businesswire. Requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Public Policy or a related field, and at least five years of experience as a Public Relations Director or a related occupation.
