Job Summary: Join our team as a Rescue Technician, where you will deliver essential pre-hospital basic life support care and assist in transporting individuals who are sick or injured. You will operate within the framework of established standards at Acadian Ambulance, as well as adhering to local, state, and national protocols.

Equipment:

You will work with various emergency medical equipment, including ambulances, stretchers, and other basic life support tools necessary for patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities: The key responsibilities associated with this position include:

• Conducting thorough patient assessments to identify signs and symptoms of illness or injury, while collaborating with other medical staff as needed.
• Administering prompt and effective basic life support within your certification limits, following approved protocols before and during transport.
• Ensuring the safe and careful handling of patients during transport.
• Documenting patient conditions and treatment accurately on EMS run reports, including all required patient information.
• Maintaining equipment through regular inventories and testing to ensure readiness.
• Restoring ambulances and equipment to service upon completion of a transport.
• Driving the ambulance safely in both emergency and non-emergency situations, adhering to all operational protocols.
• Attending mandatory meetings and fulfilling station duties.
• Completing necessary reports and documentation.
• Providing training and mentorship to EMT-Basic students as appropriate.

Physical Demands: Please note the physical demands of this role include lifting patients and equipment, as well as operating in various environmental conditions.

Work Environment: The work environment may include outdoor settings and emergency scenes in various weather conditions.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician.
• Current CPR certification by the American Heart Association.
• A valid driver's license.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with colleagues and patients.

Training Requirements: All employees will undergo orientation to familiarize them with job requirements.
