Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Production Efficiency - work closely with Maintenance/QA/Wrapping Room Supervisors to ensure production is running efficiently per process/procedure/costing/etc. Your role is to identify and resolve any issues by coordinating the necessary response teams & communicating effectively any changes to process/procedure. Main goal is to produce efficiently and on time for all orders.
  • Produce quality candy - work closely with Master Confectioner to ensure all products are made to spec by following outlined recipes and procedures.
  • Maintain SQF Standards - work closely with QA to coordinate timing on necessary training programs and oversee all Production activity with an auditor's eye. Work with QA on process/procedures and follow through to ensure accountability from all staff (up to and including write ups/firings/etc.)
  • Maintain Safety Standards - ensure all safety protocols are being followed and communicated per Safety Committee, OSHA requirements, etc.
  • Maintain Sanitation Standards - Ensure all production staff are following daily/weekly/monthly sanitation and clean up procedures. Address any areas of specific concern with QA Dept.
  • Employee Communication - Ensure all production staff are following process/procedures. Provide training if necessary.
  • Leadership - set the example and expectations we want to see from our operations including: respectful communication, collaboration across departments, follow through and trustworthiness
  • Incorporates RedZone into daily practices
  • Supervise a staff of 20 or more
  • Supervise multiple production lines

Other Responsibilities:
  • Training personnel in assigned department
  • Plan, direct, coordinate and assign manpower to efficiently meet production requirements
  • Develop and implement process improvements including cost savings
  • Tracking productivity and levels Manage production and packaging activities to achieve the safety, quality, customer service, and cost goals.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • Knowledge of GMP's
  • Adaptive team player
  • Computer skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required

2 years of proven experience in production supervision within the food and packaging industries

Job Types: Full-time, Temp-to-hire

Pay: From $17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:
  • 8 hour shift
  • Night shift

Work Location: In person
