**Assembly Technician - Nacogdoches, TX**
**Pay:** $18/hour
**Schedule:** Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM CST (Overtime required as needed)
**Job Summary**
Join our team as an **Assembly Technician** , where you'll be responsible for performing the final assembly operations of electrical transformers following established procedures and quality standards. This role plays a key part in ensuring our products meet performance, reliability, and safety expectations.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Perform assembly operations across multiple workstations, including **Tank-up, Casing, Small Parts, Vacuum Chamber, Cover Bander, Palletizing** , and **Final Assembly** .
+ Attach and install critical components such as **leads, bushings, brackets, fuses, switches, nameplates, arrestors, labels, stencils, and bands** to transformer tanks.
+ Securely anchor **core/coil assemblies** into tanks, ensuring precision alignment and quality workmanship.
+ Retrieve, assemble, and install covers; perform temperature checks and fluid inspections to verify correct oil usage.
+ Conduct **leak checks** , troubleshoot and repair units as needed.
+ Operate **vacuum systems** and small power tools safely and efficiently.
+ Interpret and follow written work instructions, **VOPs, BOM lists, production schedules** , and **WSRAs** .
+ Rework or repair nonconforming parts to meet quality standards.
+ Safely operate **overhead cranes and hoisting equipment** to move materials and components.
+ Contribute to **continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives** within the team.
+ Meet or exceed target production rates while maintaining high-quality output.
+ Adhere to **safety procedures** , maintain clean work areas (5S+), and comply with all company policies.
+ Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or team leads.
**Qualifications**
**Education:**
+ No formal education required.
**Experience:**
+ Previous manufacturing or assembly experience preferred but not required.
**Technical Skills:**
+ Basic math skills.
+ Ability to read and interpret technical documents and work instructions.
+ Comfortable using small hand and power tools.
**Physical & Environmental Requirements**
+ Lift up to **40 lbs** and perform frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
+ Work in hot and noisy environments while wearing required **PPE** , including:
+ **Hands/Arms:** Gloves, over-the-elbow sleeves
+ **Eyes/Face:** Safety glasses
+ **Ears:** Ear plugs
+ **Feet:** Steel toe boots with metatarsal guards
**Soft Skills**
+ Strong attention to detail and quality.
+ Positive attitude, reliability, and adaptability in a team-oriented environment.
+ Effective communication and understanding of written/verbal instructions.
