Job Summary:

The Utility/Dishroom Attendant plays a key role in maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization within the hospital's dietary department. This position is responsible for washing and sanitizing dishes, trays, utensils, and kitchen equipment, as well as assisting with food safety, waste disposal, and maintaining a clean work environment in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:

• Wash trays, dishes, silverware, and other items from cafeteria, room service, and special events using machine dishwashing procedures as outlined in policy.
• Assist in manual washing of pots, pans, and utensils used in food production and service areas.
• Collect and transport room service trays from soiled utility rooms in patient care areas to the dishroom.
• Return clean and sanitized equipment to appropriate storage areas throughout the Dietary Department.
• Operate and clean kitchen equipment safely and according to manufacturer's instructions.
• Monitor and record food and equipment temperatures to ensure compliance with quality control and HACCP standards.
• Clean and sanitize work tables, walls, refrigerators, trash containers, and other assigned areas to maintain hygiene and safety.
• Dispose of trash and recyclables properly, following hospital protocols.
• Demonstrate professionalism and teamwork by maintaining positive and effective working relationships with coworkers and hospital staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission, vision, and values of the hospital
