Location: Nacogdoches Group Home - Nacogdoches, TX
Position Number: P #1315
Schedule: Hours and days vary based on program needs
Compensation: $13.80 per hour

Position Overview

Burke is seeking a compassionate and dependable Part-Time Residential Assistant to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a group home setting. Residential Assistants help create a safe, home-like environment, support daily living activities, provide active treatment, and collaborate with staff to ensure high-quality care.

The RA also helps maintain the home according to Life Safety and Health standards and completes required documentation related to daily activities, progress notes, medication inventories, and other tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance, supervision, and support to residents in day-to-day living
  • Assist with active treatment plans alongside the Day Programmer
  • Promote a positive, respectful, and home-like environment
  • Ensure the home remains clean, safe, and compliant with Life Safety and Health standards
  • Complete daily documentation, including activity notes, progress reports, and medication inventory
  • Work collaboratively with program staff and other professionals
  • Maintain reliable transportation for required duties
Qualifications
Education
  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
  • Preferred: Six (6) months of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
Licenses & Certifications
  • Required: Valid Texas driver's license
Special Requirements
  • Must be able to complete SAMA, CPR, First Aid, Defensive Driving, and other required training
  • Must have a driving record insurable by Burke's insurance administrator
  • Must complete all employee training requirements
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to see, hear, speak, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods, bend, kneel, and drive a vehicle
  • Hand and finger dexterity for documentation and daily tasks
