Position Description & QualificationsFull Time, Junior level Benefits Specialist. You will answer incoming calls and emails from customers about administrative actions, including educating and advising callers on their military benefits and resources available to them and their families.This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain/transfer an active NACI100% Remote in the National Capital RegionIn This Role, You WillIdentify and coordinate advocacy on behalf of Veterans, Active and reserve service members, or their Family members in a particular subject area (e.g., Military benefits).Determine the nature of the inquiry to provide accurate and concise answers.Provide information requested or refer the client to appropriate military or community resources.Provide prompt and empathetic communication with the customer via phone and email.Become familiar with the Benefits Library at the MyArmyBenefits or MyAirForceBenefits websites.Respond to complex questions that require detailed research and understanding of Department of Defense (DOD) and Veteran Affairs (VA) policies and regulations.Document all client interactions in a customer relationship management (CRM) program and provide researched, documented answers to callers and anyone requesting questions about military benefits.If applicable, be involved in facilitating retirement estimate calculations utilizing related software.To Be Successful In This Role, You Will HaveAn NACI submittal with favorable adjudicationU.S. Citizenship requiredA Bachelor's degree requiredA minimum of 3 years of experience administering benefits programsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsA strong understanding of the Veteran Affairs benefits and compensation programsGood analytical and problem‑solving skillsExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesThe ability to be an active listener who can adapt to caller persona and adjust approach/explanations accordinglyProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related softwareCustomer Service experienceWork self‑sufficiently and productivelyProvide own internet service and cell phoneBe available during work hours: 0800‑1700 ETAdditional Desired Experience And SkillsExperience with Military Benefits is a plusPrior experience working with the Air Force Benefits or Veterans/Military spouseBenefits & CompensationMedical, dental, and vision insuranceRobust vacation and sick leave benefits, and flexible work arrangements where permitted by role or contract401(k) plan that includes employer matching fundsTuition reimbursement programLife insurance and disability coverageOptional coverages that can be purchased, including pet insurance, home and auto insurance, additional life and accident insurance, critical illness insurance, group legal, ID theft protectionBirth, adoption, parental leave benefitsEmployee Assistance PlanEEO StatementSerco is an equal opportunity employer.
