Location: Home & Community Services – Nacogdoches County and surrounding areas.Position Number: 1540Compensation: $13.80 per hourAbout the RoleBurke DD Provider Services is seeking a dependable and professional Courier / Transportation Support Staff member to assist with safe and timely transportation needs for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in Nacogdoches County and surrounding areas.This position supports daily operations by providing transportation to and from approved locations including but not limited to medical appointments, community activities and settings, ISS facilities, and other assigned destinations.What You'll DoProvide safe and reliable transportation for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities receiving services in Nacogdoches County and surrounding areasTransport individuals to approved destinations, including medical appointments, community outings, and daily transport to and from ISS facilitiesComplete required documentation, mileage logs, and transportation records accurately and timelyPromptly report incidents, accidents, delays, behavioral concerns, medical concerns, or safety issues to the appropriate supervisorFollow all Burke policies, traffic laws, and safe driving standardsMaintain a professional, respectful, and supportive approach when interacting with individuals served, staff, families, and community partnersProvide supervision and support to individuals during transportation servicesAssist with Personal Assistance Services and Habilitation (PASHAB) activities as assignedWhat We're Looking ForGraduation from an accredited high school or its equivalentStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to document appropriately and maintain detailed recordsDependability and professionalismAbility to work independently and adapt to changing schedulesValid Texas driver's licenseWhat Helps You Stand OutOne (1) year of responsible experience working with individuals with developmental disabilitiesExperience providing community-based services or transportation assistanceKnowledge of IDD services and supportsKey SkillsSafe transportation and supervisionCustomer service and communicationDocumentation and recordkeepingTime management and reliabilityCommunity support and habilitation servicesAdaptability and problem-solvingWork ScheduleHours and days may vary depending on consumer needsAppointments and trainings may occur throughout the dayPart-time schedule based on service demandsLicenses & CertificationsValid Texas driver's license requiredMust be physically able to complete required training courses, including SAMA, CPR, First Aid, Defensive Driving, Van Driving, and other required training modulesDriving record must be insurable by Burke's insurance administratorPhysical RequirementsAbility to see, hear, and communicate effectivelyAbility to walk, stand, bend, and kneel for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to operate a vehicle safelyAbility to perform tasks requiring hand and finger dexterityWhy Burke?Join a mission-driven organization dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout East Texas.
